Since 1987, Graduate Gemologist Joseph R. Villarreal has been a GIA alumni member in good standing. Before his career as a Graduate Gemologist, founder Joseph Villarreal, was always fascinated by unusual rocks, minerals, and precious gemstones, and ultimately diamonds. In addition, to further his interest and gain entry into the jewelry industry, Joseph studied Gemology at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America – “The World’s Foremost Authority in Gemology.” There he earned his Graduate Gemologist diploma, with an emphasis on Diamonds and Colored Gemstones. The Graduate Gemologist diploma is a highly valued accolade with worldwide recognition.
After 10 years of valuable buying experience working within the wholesale jewelry and gemstone business in Dallas, Texas, Joseph decided to move back to his hometown in Austin, TX. Soon after, he opened a by-appointment jewelry company selling to private clients. Since its inception in 1997, Villarreal Diamond Engagement Rings and Fine Jewelry has flourished. Joseph’s diligence and hard work have enabled him to cultivate a loyal clientele who appreciate his honesty, integrity, and principled customer service.
