“What is a reasonable price for an engagement ring?”
This is a question that is often asked of us. The key word here is “reasonable.” The fact of the matter is, what is reasonable to you and what is reasonable to others may differ greatly.
However, I can tell you what our clients have spent with us over the last 5 years. While prices vary, the average price paid for an engagement ring by our clientele has been approximately $7,500 – $8,500. In some cases, much higher. Jewelry industry trade publications report that the average price is approximately $6,200 during the same time period. Other sources not within the jewelry trade, report as little as $2,000 to $3,500.
While our clientele clearly do spend more, it is because they are a niche consumer requiring more than the average diamond engagement ring buyer. In the end, it is all about your pocket book and your budget. Once you have determined your budget, everything else will fall into place.
